Izabel and Tashi

I’m super excited about a very specific new brand of hand dyed yarns: it’s Tricô Tricô (as “Knit Knit”). One of the reasons is for that is the exquisite colors on the top 100%  wool yarns. You can take a look here and see for yourself  :) !

Playing with yarns under the influence of Pantone Fashion Color Report Fall 2012

 

At Vogue Knitting Live we received cute cards from Pantone & VK with a color selection for Spring 2012. I’ve loved the card and even more the colors! However, at that moment, I didn’t research about what was going on between Pantone, VK and this color list. This event is always so fantastic, there’s so much happening at the same time that we can’t afford to miss a thing!

Recently launched yarns and the I Love Yarn Day celebration!

This week I saw at Facebook a note about the I Love Yarn Day next October 14. I had no idea that there was actually a day for loving yarn  and it made me laugh because I tend to celebrate yarn every day when I’m at the computer or just dropping by my LYS!

The Craft Yarn Council is suggesting something bigger than that! The idea is to engage people to celebrate yarn trough teaching  somebody to knit or crochet, doing something for charity, giving yarn as a gift, knitting or crocheting  in public and so on.

A homemade interpretation of kettle hand dyeing!

I’m thinking that hand dyeing yarn is a delightful thing to do! I’m not an expert at it but I keep practicing!! I like the hand dyed yarns with the kettle dye technique, so I searched the internet to understand more about the process. But there is so much information available that I decided to take a chance and do my interpretation of what I read about the technique and a tutorial on dyeing on KnitPicks website.
